How Long Does It Take to Launch Prop Firm Software?

Providers publish timelines from a few days to several weeks. Those claims become useful only when the buyer knows what “launch” includes and when the implementation clock starts.

Define “launch”

Does it mean branded dashboard ready, first test account provisioned, payments live, KYC live, trading platform live or the entire business legally/operationally ready to accept customers? Software vendors generally control only part of the launch.

Start conditions matter

Ask whether the clock begins at payment, kickoff or after all branding, domains, platform credentials, PSP/KYC accounts and challenge rules are delivered. A seven-day implementation can still take weeks if prerequisites are incomplete.

Fast is valuable only with acceptance

Use a launch checklist covering checkout, provisioning, risk, emails, KYC, payout, admin permissions and recovery from failed integrations. Do not trade testing for an attractive go-live date.

Custom work changes the timeline

Unique risk rules, proprietary integrations or data migration can move the project outside the standard onboarding path. Require a separate timeline for custom dependencies.

Startup vs migration

A greenfield launch can be faster because there is no incumbent data/state to reconcile. A live migration should prioritize continuity and rollback over matching the fastest startup headline.
